Old Style Before 1972 Note 1: In 1972 Sloan made a change on their Royal and Royal Quiet Flush Valves by changing the outside and inside covers consequently, when changing the old style A-4 outside cover to the new style A-72 outside cover you must also change the old A-11 inside cover and use the new style A-71 inside cover. Note 2: Royal flush valves now use a # A-163-A plastic guide assy. in place of the all brass guide assy. When installing the new plastic guide assy., you will no longer need to use the old copper ring which did come with the diaphragm. Also, the A-170 refill head has a side one and a side two. Place side one up for closets and side two up for urinals.
